So original! Another brilliant idea from Gonzalo!"
- Héctor Mancha

You’re already in on the secret, aren’t you? That’s the crux of the matter.
The Six Card Repeat has been a staple for nearly a century, and for good reason: it’s a classic. But let’s be honest, once the audience figures out the trick, what’s next? Cue the tumbleweed.

Countdown Repeat flips the script on repetition, bringing a fresh twist to the age-old premise. Forget the predictable; here, five cards turn into a countdown that has a mind of its own. Cards vanish, then reappear. Numbers repeat, morph, and even backtrack, leading to unexpected visual punchlines. What starts as a simple countdown spirals into a delightful absurdity, building suspense until you hit zero.

Or not. (You do you.)

Crafted by Gonzalo Albiñana after years of tinkering with the Six Card Repeat, Countdown Repeat is far from just another spin on an old favourite. It’s a modular masterpiece, offering you seven core setups to kick things off while inviting you to create your own version. We’ll walk you through a variety of configurations, complete with three recordings of live shows across different audiences and venues—each more jaw-dropping than the last.
You’ll master various sequences, sneaky loads, surprises, visual gags, and endings—all while letting your audience inspect each card. The impossibility? It’s off the charts.

But wait, there’s more! Alongside the ready-to-roll material, you’ll gain access to several downloads with bonus study material, as well as an 80-page digital book diving into the effect’s history and context, plus a bonus of three brand-new routines and methods from Gonzalo's book, En Blanco, where he conjured a new piece of magic daily for 365 days (no pressure).
The specially designed cards come in poker size or semi-jumbo, cleverly concealing the method in plain sight, whilst the numerical structure gives this routine something the traditional Six Card Repeat has always struggled with: a destination.
A destination you can tailor to fit any running time, situation, audience, or performance need.

Easy to grasp. Visually striking. And packed with solid magic.

Designed for almost any performance scenario: ideal as an opener, an MC piece, or for both kids and adults... And switching up the structure, routine, gags, presentation, or audience is a doddle. You’ll always be prepared for whatever comes your way and can adjust the pacing to fit your needs, delivering professional, field-tested, original magic that equips you to make it your own and achieve everything you want on stage.

5. 4. 3. 2. 1...

Welcome to Countdown Repeat!
