Ever run into that 'wise guy' type spectator who imposes a series of strict conditions? With this effect, you can meet every condition imaginable. Just read the conditions in the ad copy."
- Tommaso Guglielmi

Welcome to the "Move a Card" world, a classic plot with roots tracing back to the 1930s, thanks to the legendary Moe Seidenstein. Over the years, countless methods have come and gone, but let’s just say this one might just be the 'Holy Grail'—and not just because it sounds fancy. The conditions are downright impossible. We’re talking any borrowed deck, completely impromptu, and 100% hands-off. Yep, you don’t even need to touch a single card. How’s that for a breath of fresh air in card magic?

There’s a full performance video attached above (kudos to my friend for capturing it), but for those who prefer the written word, here’s the skinny on how it all goes down:

You start by asking the spectator for their own deck, because who doesn’t love a good borrowed deck routine? They shuffle it however they like—because we all know that shuffling is half the fun. (And yes, you promise to keep your hands off their precious cards.)

Once they’ve shuffled to their heart's content, you invite them to spread the deck face-up on the table so you can *attempt* to memorize the order. (Spoiler alert: you turn your back like a true magician.) You then instruct them, while facing away, to take any card from one end of the spread and move it to a different spot on the other side. After they’ve done their thing, they square up the deck to hide any evidence of where the card was. Classic misdirection, right?

When you finally turn back around, you confidently declare that if you actually memorized the order, you should be able to pinpoint the moved card. So, they spread the deck face-up again, and voilà—you reveal the moved card without breaking a sweat or fishing for info.

Some Important Conditions of Note:

The effect uses a borrowed, shuffled deck.

The magician never touches the cards at any point in time, whether before, during, or even after the effect (so, in theory, this can be performed over a video call with the deck on the spectator's end).

There are no gimmicks of any kind involved - this is 100% impromptu. Truly anywhere and anytime without any preparation whatsoever.

There is very little memory work involved (within reach of anyone) - so the magician doesn't need to memorize a bunch of cards or anything like that.

The magician doesn't learn the identity of the selected card until he looks through the face-up spread at the end - so this rules out any peek or force.

The magician never needs to fish for any information at the end - he can always reveal the identity of the selected card without fishing or asking questions.

Note: The effect described above is just one of several effects taught. So, you will learn multiple different methods for the "Move a Card" plot. There is something for everyone here. In part, this is why the product is $20, as you're not just learning a single method, but rather several methods. But, also, because the main method is, in my opinion, the 'Holy Grail' for this particular plot (given its conditions).
