"What I love about this trick is that the audience are lead down an innocent garden path and then sucker punched off the edge of a cliff! It's engaging, different and funny with an out of left field kicker that people love"
- Lloyd Barnes

"I was lucky enough to pick one up at Magic Live and I absolutely love performing it! Apart from the fact I feel Craig should have shaved for the trailer I give it 100%!"
- Peter Nardi

"A.P.E. is a real trip! Craig has recreated the famous viral video of the invisible gorilla experiment - as a packet trick. It's funny, fooling and hugely entertaining. Your audience will go bananas! (Sorry, not sorry.)"
- Mark Elsdon

APE HITS HARDER THAN A 500LB SILVERBACK

You ask your audience if they’ve seen that infamous perception experiment on YouTube, where a bunch of basketball players are passing a ball around while you count the passes... and then boom, a giant gorilla strolls in, beats his chest, and struts off like he owns the place.

You assure them that if they were there live and up close, they’d catch it, right? Time to recreate the magic. You pull out 3 cards from a slick vegan leather holder, each showing a different number of basketballs. You showcase each card, front and back, and get them to guess the total number of basketballs. Then you hit them with the kicker—did they miss the gorilla? Blank stares all around. You flip the cards to reveal a massive gorilla splashed across the three of them. How the hell could you miss that?

Cue absolute chaos. Waves of laughter, disbelief, and chatter about how on earth they missed it. And guess what? The loop resets. Caution—this reaction will stick around long after you’ve left the room.

Once the gorilla makes his grand entrance, you can show the cards front and back and even hand a couple out for inspection. But let’s be real—no one wants to touch them because their brains just melted and they need to process what just happened.

The cards are crafted by the maestro of card design, Phill Smith, featuring an ingenious little twist that aids the method beautifully.

This packet trick is an ideal opener or a show-stopping closer. It’s got an irresistible hook, it’s a blast, it’s interactive, resets in a flash, takes up virtually no pocket space, and is a breeze to perform.

You missed the gorilla, DO NOT MISS A.P.E
