The short video performance on this page is a true and accurate capture of what your audience and participants will experience during your ACAAN routine. More importantly, it shows how all involved will remember and recount the miracle they’ve just witnessed.
The person in the video is just a regular customer from the restaurant where we filmed, and they are genuinely blown away by the impossibility of finding their thought-of card at the randomly chosen number.
No pre-show work, no stooges (instant or otherwise), and certainly no secret cueing, complicated memory work, or tricky sleight of hand required. You can use any deck of cards, and this routine can be performed entirely impromptu, right after being handed a thoroughly shuffled borrowed deck; the outcome will always feel like a true miracle when you follow the instructions to the letter.
One person merely thinks of a playing card (and keeps it a secret) while another names any number from 1 to 52. The audience member counts down that many cards in the deck—no magician touch involved—and only when they reach the card at that number does the thought-of card get revealed, to everyone's utter amazement!

ROBERT TEMPLE'S A.N.O.R.A.K.
Here’s the kicker: you (the magician, surprise!) take a deck of cards from your pocket, laying them face up on the table while explaining that there’s a Holy Grail for magicians—where one spectator names a number between one and fifty-two, whilst another names any card.
You then count down to the chosen number, and to the astonishment of everyone around, the named card appears at that random number. Cue wild applause and a room full of puzzled expressions wondering, "How on earth did he do that?"
But wait, there's a twist! You explain that only a handful of magicians can achieve this miracle, and unfortunately, you’re not one of them (cue the gasps). Spectator A names a number, and Spectator B names a card aloud.
Now, for the first time since laying the cards down, you pick them up, spread through the deck, find the named card, and remove it. You then turn all the other cards face down, revealing that each one has a different number printed on the back. Finally, you turn over the chosen card to show it has the selected number on the reverse!
