Tlaloc, The Storm God. Here’s the second deck in our series featuring the deities of ancient Aztec culture (because who doesn’t love a bit of history with their card games?).
Tlaloc is the God of Rain—worshipped for his ability to bestow life and sustenance, but equally feared for his temper (ever had a storm ruin your picnic? Yeah, that’s Tlaloc). He’s got a bit of a thing for caves, springs, and mountains, particularly the sacred Mount Tlaloc, where he’s rumoured to hang out.
Mexican artists typically splash blue all over Tlaloc’s imagery, and he’s always seen toting a vessel filled with water (so, basically, he’s the original water bottle guy).
