This classic piece of magic is a right laugh, especially when paired with some rapid-fire banter (because who doesn’t love a good chuckle?). In a nutshell, the magician presents two large sticks. Each stick features a hole at one end, through which runs a string. One end of each string is capped with a plastic bead, while the other sports a snazzy red tassel. Oh, did I mention both sticks are hollow? (Because that’s just how we roll.)
Initially, one string is tucked away inside a stick, with its tassel peeking out near the hole. Meanwhile, the other string and tassel are outside, just waiting for their moment of glory. As the performer holds the sticks in a V-shape, pulling the tassel from the stick reveals a delightful twist: the other tassel gets yanked back into the second stick. This playful back-and-forth continues, causing plenty of giggles from the audience. And just when they think they’ve got it figured out, the magician pulls the sticks apart and repeats the shenanigans, proving there’s absolutely no connection between the two strings. Cue the astonishment!

Crafted from finished wood, they feel as good as the pricier options but with a stunning dark red cord and gold accents that make them pop, whether you’re performing in a parlour or on stage.
