Effect: Picture this: a Chap Stick container is casually introduced by the magician (because, why not?). The cap comes off to reveal the enticing red (cherry) goo inside — it's all very enticing. The cap goes back on, and the whole thing gets handed over to a spectator to keep a hold of (because who doesn't want to be part of the magic?). Now, the magician pulls out a quarter with a string tied to it (clearly, the magician has a penchant for unusual accessories). A spectator is then asked to mark the coin with an "X" or their initials using a Sharpie (let’s be honest, it’s not like you’ll be using that coin for anything else after this). The magician lights the string, and poof! The quarter disappears!

Effect (cont'd): Now, let’s refocus on that Chap Stick container, still being held by the spectator in plain sight — no funny business here. The cap is removed, and surprise! The red contents have vanished, replaced by a cheeky piece of string poking out about 1/4” from the top. The string is pulled out completely, and voilà, a quarter tied to the end, proudly displaying the markings from earlier. The string gets another flicker of flame, and all that’s left in the magician’s hand is that very quarter, which can be handed back to the spectator for a cheeky confirmation (because who doesn’t love a good reveal?).
