Just when you think it can't get any sillier, a large knife makes an entrance, intended for the magician to stab through the chosen card as the spectator is told to hurl the entire jumbo deck into the air. He’s a master of comedy magic, and the Comedy Paper Bag Blindfold Card Routine is right up there among his faves. If it’s one of his top picks, you know it's got a serious laugh factor. This trick is uniquely hilarious!
So here’s the setup: a spectator joins the magician on stage, and to keep things fair, he blindfolds himself. After a moment of thought, he suggests the spectator should join in the blindfold fun to ensure randomness. But instead of a boring old cloth blindfold, he whips out shiny new paper bags, because who doesn’t want a bag on their head? The mere sight is enough to crack up the audience!
As both the magician and the spectator stumble about, trying to select a card while blindfolded, the hilarity ensues. Eventually, a card is chosen (amidst fits of laughter) and mixed back into the deck.
Then comes the pièce de résistance: the magician introduces a small knife, announcing he’ll stab at the selected card as the spectator throws the deck into the air. What could possibly go wrong? Wolfgang’s revamped it with paper bags instead of blindfolds and an ordinary kitchen knife instead of a fancy card-sword.
