So, we’ve got the Genso & Densho Playing Cards, the second brainchild of Card Experiment and the talented Yosuke Ando, a graphic designer based in Tokyo who also dabbled in the Musha & Goketsu range. Card Experiment is back at it, mixing the beautiful chaos of traditional Japanese woodblock prints with a sprinkle of modern flair and a dash of playfulness. Genso and Densho? They’ve nailed that iconic woodblock style while keeping the essence of playing card design intact (because who wants a card that looks like a potato?).

The real charm of Genso & Densho Playing Cards lies in their homage to beloved Japanese folk tales, featuring encounters with semi-legendary heroes, supernatural births, and all sorts of fantastical creatures. These tales, like folklore everywhere, serve up little nuggets of wisdom that stick in your noggin and are perfect for the wee ones (or the young at heart). They’re great at teaching morals that have weathered the test of time—who knew life lessons could come wrapped in such vivid colours?

Now, let’s talk tuck cases: Densho tuck cases are crafted from premium paper stock by GMUND in Germany. They're hot foil stamped and letter pressed in Hong Kong (because why not go all in?).

The cards themselves are printed by the United States Playing Card Company, who know a thing or two about making things look sharp.
