Double Crossed is one of those tricks that’ll make your mates question their sanity! (And yours too, but let’s not dwell on that.)
Your spectator kicks things off by counting out twenty cards from a shuffled deck, which they then split into two groups of ten. One pile goes into their clutches (between their hands or snugly in their pocket, you decide). The other ten cards are spread out in front of you, and here’s the kicker: your spectator just needs to THINK of two different cards. (No pressure, right?)
You then make the bold claim that you’re going to make their chosen cards disappear from your packet, fly invisibly through the ether, and land in their stash!
Your spectator counts your cards and—oh look—there are only eight left! You reveal each one, front and back, proving beyond doubt that those thought-of cards have pulled a disappearing act! They then count their cards, and surprise, surprise—there are now TWELVE!
You casually ask: "For the first time, what are your thought-of cards?” As they name them, they’re in for a shock: those very cards are now in their hands! Magic, baby! (Who needs a rabbit in a hat?)
