DVK stands for... Dela Vs. Koran

I've always been a fan of the Koran forcing deck, and there are a few versions floating around with their own quirky names.

What I’m serving up here is technically a Koran 101 Deck (also known as the 5 Star Prediction Deck).

Now, I’ll admit, they’re a bit rough around the edges at the moment... but they do the trick until I can whip up a more polished set in the future.

This deck is something special, designed to force one of four different playing cards. Each 'stack' of four cards is repeated down the deck, cleverly interspersed with indifferent cards.

This means you can deal 'face up' on a table and no one will notice the force cards repeating! Why? Because there are EIGHT different cards dealt between every two identical force cards. No one’s counting that far back, are they?

Each of the four force cards pops up in the deck six times, so you’re well covered.

And here’s the kicker: you can spread the deck (face up) on a table, or between your hands, and the audience just can’t focus quickly enough to figure out the repeating cards! It's downright mind-boggling how convincing this setup is.

The 4 Force Cards are...

• Jack of Spades
• 3 of Hearts
• 8 of Clubs
• 5 of Diamonds

The simplest routine... and my go-to is this...

You place a wallet down on the table.

Then, you introduce the cards, spreading them face up to show the lovely chaos.

From a face-down pack, you deal 'face up' into a pile. The spectator can yell stop whenever they fancy... They stop, the card is set aside.

You open the wallet, revealing an envelope, and inside that envelope is ONE playing card: the Jack of Spades.

They turn over their freely chosen card, and lo and behold, it’s also the Jack of Spades!

They match! ... a seemingly impossible prediction!!!

• For this, you’ll need the DVK Deck and the four prediction cards (included) ready to reveal however you fancy.

I stash mine in two two-way envelopes (to cover all four cards), which then go into a small Himber Wallet — one double envelope on each side.

If you don’t have two-way envelopes or a Himber Wallet, no worries! A regular 'bill-fold' wallet works just fine. Just slip the cards into the "bill section" wedged between receipts or whatever!

If that’s too much fuss, you could simply carry one of each force card in different jacket pockets and pull out the matching one, quipping, "and nope, I don’t have 52 pockets... heh."

Now, let’s be honest, anyone could cobble together a Koran Deck at home... I did for years, just buy six packs of cards.
