Erinus Eterna is a deck of playing cards crafted by Vincent and inspired by the venerable plant "Erinus Lobelia", which was unearthed and dubbed by the illustrious Carl von Linné in 1707.
The Lobelia flower is a bit of a show-off, flaunting a range of meanings depending on its petal colour. Love, prosperity, and union can all be on the menu. These blooms also carry the good luck charm along with family bonding, hope, and the kind of friendships you’d actually want to keep. Fun fact: back in Emperor Nero’s day, Erinus was considered a deity of revenge (so you know, watch your back).
Erinus Eterna Rose is the rarest gem in the collection, with just 600 copies up for grabs. It bears all the features of the gold edition, plus a cheeky “1 of 600” seal applied to the box bottom—just for kicks (and no, it’s not numbered, because who needs that kind of pressure?).
General Features
The design is a quirky mix of visible and hidden symbols, all nodding to the many meanings of the Lobelia plant. Look closely, and you’ll find branches and leaves sneaking about. The predominant green gives a nod to the plant kingdom, while the colourful figures take inspiration from nature’s palette (yes, Mother Nature has style).
The Courts
The courts are a big deal here. Vincent has gone all out, redesigning them by hand before giving them a digital facelift, inspired by the classic Dondorf card deck. He’s also been on a bit of a history binge with Bernard J. Dondorf, blending elements from today with nature’s theme—resulting in figures that are as colourful as they are detailed.
The Aces and Pips
Even the Aces and Pips got the royal treatment, sketched first and then brought to life digitally. Each Ace is snuggled up with at least one infinity symbol, wrapped in branches and leaves—because why not? The Pips sport a minimalist infinity design, making them easy to spot while you’re busy dazzling your audience. It’s all about that infinity and nature vibe!
The Jokers
One of the standout symbols of the Erinus Lobelia plant is the family bond—strong roots lead to solid connections. Our jokers are held up by sturdy hands entwined with roots and leaves, reminding you that it’s all about nurturing those ties (and maybe not letting them wilt).
