ONCE UPON A TIME, there was a range of Book Tests called Facsimile that checked all the boxes, and now that range just got a cheeky upgrade with Facsimile 2.0.

Facsimile (from Latin fac simile, "to make alike") is a near-perfect copy of an old book, manuscript, map, art print, or other historically significant item. Think of it as magic’s way of saying, “Look, but don’t touch!”

In layman's terms, Michael Daniels has crafted a book test so authentic, it's practically begging to be mistaken for the real deal.

These world-famous tomes have been reproduced with such meticulous detail that your audience will genuinely believe they’re holding an original copy. No joke!

Facsimile is simply the book test with an actual book. You get to perform MULTIPLE word revelations on ANY page. Yes, you heard right—this is as close to 'fair' and 'random' as it gets.

The basic three-word effect rolls out like this:

Flick through the book and have them shout STOP wherever they fancy. Tell them to remember a word on that page. Without any sneaky fishing or memory gymnastics, you’ll reveal the word they’ve picked, however you fancy.

And if your audience suspects you’ve pulled a fast one while holding the book, just pass it to them and let them choose ANY page. Instruct them to remember a word there too, and once again, you’ll know the exact word they’re thinking of.

But wait, there’s more! You can even divine a THIRD word from the same or a different page. You’ll know instantly what they’re thinking. It’s like you’ve got a mentalist superpower!

The snazzy 2.0 editions come packed with all these features plus larger text for better visibility, an extra mid-page word reveal, and the nifty ability to know how many speech lines are on a page or if it’s just text. Oh, and you can also tell the number of paragraphs. Seriously, how good is that?

With these new features, you’ve got a smorgasbord of possibilities to mix into your routine.

During phase two or three, you can even predict their chosen word using an envelope that’s been in play before they’ve even cracked open the book. Talk about a plot twist!

The book is examinable before, during, and after — take that, skeptics!

You can read the entire novel from cover to cover!

No duplicate pages or Svengali nonsense here.

No forced choices—it's a completely free pick of the page.

No fishing.

No memory work needed.

Can be performed without you ever touching the book.

Learn it in minutes!

Perfect for both stand-up and close-up performances.

And if you’re feeling fancy, there are advanced options taught where you can use minimal fishing and memory work for some presentations.

Included in the package is the book and online instructions.

A Study in Scarlet, Turn of the Screw, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are approximately 107mm x 175mm. These little beauties fit snugly in your jacket pocket—ideal for close-up performers and walk-around gigs.

If you fancy something more grand for stage or parlour, we have larger books like Frankenstein, Invisible Man, and Hound of the Baskervilles, which are around 152mm x 227mm in the original range.

Note from Saturn MagicFacsimile: The Unabridged Book Test is genuinely a thing of beauty and comes with our highest recommendation. It’s the ideal product for those who’ve always shied away from this type of effect, as well as more seasoned mentalists looking to perform multiple word revelations under the fairest conditions with minimal effort, allowing you to concentrate fully on your dazzling presentation. And once you discover Facsimile, you’ll be performing happily ever after.
