FULTON STREET PLAYING CARDS 1958 EDITION

Ah, the 1958 New York Subway Map. It’s not just a pretty piece of paper; it kickstarted a proper design revolution for navigating the subway chaos. George Salomon, fed up with the mishmash of signs and maps, decided enough was enough and put pen to paper (or, you know, whatever graphic designers use). This deck pays homage to Salomon's groundbreaking work, which also paved the way for the stylish Vignelli Map of 1972 (not that anyone’s counting).

These playing cards are not just any old deck—they’re officially licensed by the MTA, which makes them even cooler (if you can be cool and love public transport at the same time). Custom-designed with Salomon’s graphics and featuring face and ad cards crafted by the talented Brad Fulton, all inspired by the "Out of the Labyrinth" manifesto to pretty up the NYC Subway system. Because who wouldn’t want to jazz up their commute?
