The routine couldn’t be simpler:
A spectator picks a card, let’s say the King of Hearts. You promptly lose it in the deck—easy peasy! You take the top card, let’s say the 9 of Spades, and show it off. Absolutely no connection to the spectator’s card!
Now, you fold the 9 of Spades in half and say, “Not the right one... what a shame.” But before you toss it aside, give everyone one last look at it from both sides.
And here comes the magic!
