HOUDINI'S HANDKERCHIEF is a cheeky little tale about the legendary Houdini and his rather audacious escape from two rather bumbling police officers who’ve got him all tied up and handcuffed (because, obviously, that’s a good idea).
But wait for it—there’s a twist at the end that’ll leave your audience scratching their heads!
Houdini is represented by a flashy red handkerchief, while the two coppers are depicted by a pair of blue ones. They tie him up, and in a stroke of brilliance (or is it madness?), Houdini manages to wriggle free, leaving the blue handkerchiefs all tied up together. Classic Houdini, eh?
And just to keep things above board, the audience gets to check the knots themselves. Because who doesn’t love a bit of audience participation?
This routine is spot on for kids’ parties and family shows alike. It’s easy to perform—no complex sleight of hand here—so you can focus on the fun. Plus, you’ll end up looking squeaky clean (and the spectators can check those handkerchiefs without any funny business).
