The spectator shuffles the deck like a pro and shows about half the cards to you — a little peek for your entertainment. Meanwhile, you’re focusing on a card in your mind. The spectator then deals down a secret number of cards and discreetly removes a few. No peeking! Those cards go back on the deck, and now it’s time to deal out as many cards as your lucky number dictates.
Here comes the fun part: the spectator discards every second card until just one remains in their hand. You then produce the card you were thinking of, and when the big reveal happens, it’s a match! Cue the applause (or at least a polite nod).
