Your spectator scribbles their name on a blank card and, in a moment of utter chaos, they lose it in the deck (because why not?). Next, they scrawl their partner's name on another card and, guess what? That one's lost in the pack too. You then invite them to reminisce about when they first met their partner, picturing those two cards reuniting in the deck. With a flick of your wrist, you spread the cards and, lo and behold, those same two cards are cheekily nestled right next to each other. You explain that these cards have found each other (awww) but why stop there?
Back into the pack they go, and a shuffle ensues. You casually inquire about their anniversary date (because you’re just that smooth). After the cards have been thoroughly mixed, they reveal the date, and you count down that exact number of cards. When they flip the next two cards, surprise, surprise – it’s the very cards they wrote on!
A beautiful effect that’s bound to resonate with your spectator (or spectators, if you’re feeling generous), as it’s all about them.
