You turn your back. Completely oblivious. Zero visible control.
The spectator:
- Shuffles the deck - however they choose.
- Freely picks three cards - no forces, no setup.
- Mixes the three cards face down, not even knowing which is which.

- The spectator removes a random handful of cards from anywhere in the deck and hides them in their pocket. (No counting. No peeking. No control.)
- The rest of the deck is returned. You never touch it.
- You name the exact number of cards in their pocket.
They count - and it’s spot on, down to the last card. (For most magicians, this alone would be a showstopper. But here, it’s just the warm-up.)
ACT II: Remote Reading
Still facing away, you begin to name the exact cards that were in their pocket.
Suit and value. One by one. In perfect order.
