Volume Two - Close-Up Mentalism

Welcome to the most personal form of entertainment you can throw at a crowd (but don’t worry, they’ll love it). It’s all about striking that perfect balance between charming and slightly unsettling—like your mate who tells ghost stories at the pub. This video is packed with material specifically crafted for tiny audiences or even just one-on-one encounters. Forget about pre-show shenanigans or secret helpers; these are real-world routines for the solo performer, featuring clever and quirky methods that’ll leave ‘em scratching their heads. Here’s what you’ll pick up:
  • Shape-Up (Previously Unrevealed) - You’ll remove one card from an ESP deck. Then, a spectator deals through the rest, flipping cards face-up at their leisure. Spoiler alert: the card they stop at matches the one you set aside. How’s that for mind games?
  • Changeling - A refreshingly straightforward routine using a handful of everyday coins. You’ll predict exactly how many coins the spectator will pick. Easy peasy.
  • Isolation - The participant gets to choose from a selection of magazines. They open one at random, note a word (whilst you’re looking the other way, of course), and then you pull a convincing telepathic stunt by revealing their word. Talk about reading minds!
  • Key To The Future - A delightful twist on the classic “Seven Keys to Baldpate” using a regular padlock and several keys, with only one that works. This time, it's the spectator who gets to flex their psychic muscle. Will they find the right key? And can you predict the outcome? Spoiler: you can!
  • Symbalance (Previously Unrevealed) - Grab a standard pack of ESP symbol cards and two participants. You’ll nail the first person's thought-of design, then go on to read the second person’s symbol with an unconventional display of “tactile intuition.” Sounds fancy, right?
  • Positive Negative - A masterclass in spectator management wrapped in an entertaining bit of predictive pantomime with a stunning reveal. Best part? You can do it on the fly with borrowed items—no prep required!
  • The Hawk - Another head-scratcher from the "Birds of Prey" series. Two spectators select and replace cards while your back is turned (classic). They shuffle the deck, but don’t worry: you’ll deal through the cards and stop at one selection, all while naming the other. Easy as pie!
