SylBaak Hill is a delightful little enclave of oddities, crafted by a quirky indie art collective in Hong Kong. This secret garden is home to an eclectic mix of residents: a penguin, an owl, a black cat, a lobster, and an egg (yes, an egg). Together, they delve into the rich tapestry of world culture, history, folklore, and the ever-fascinating flora and fauna.
Among their artistic wonders, their mechanical paper models and illustrations have scooped up a few shiny awards across Hong Kong and Europe. Not too shabby, eh?
The DeckTree worship was all the rage in prehistoric religions, eventually weaving its way into later mythologies. This deck of cards is all about trees—those mighty giants that bridge Eastern and Western myths. Think of the Nordic World Tree, the revered Greek hollyhock and oak, and the olive tree, a symbol of victory. Japan has its own sacred trees linked to deities, and don’t forget the Fusang tree from Chinese mythology, a sunny hotspot for the sun goddess. Trees are basically the VIPs of world culture.
