Naughty or nice?

Here’s my cheeky spin on the classic Colour Monte, tailored for my Christmas gigs and, let’s be honest, a nifty little marketing ploy. I’ve whipped up two versions: one for the little ones and one for the grown-ups. Both come snugly packed in a quad packet-trick holder made from waxed Crazy Horse leather, complete with a lush green suede lining and matching stitching (fancy, right?).

The concept is as simple as it is festive: Naughty or Nice.

Santa invites your audience to join in a playful game, attempting to keep track of the Nice card as it sneaks between the two Naughty cards. After a bit of cheeky banter, you reveal the first two cards—Naughty and Nice—and then ask them to predict the last card. Spoiler alert: they’ll nearly always shout “Naughty.”

That’s your cue for the punchline:

“You don’t want to be on the Naughty List, do you? Go on, make a wish to be on the Nice List…”

And voilà! The final card morphs into a Nice List Certificate—something they can actually keep!

For the adults, I’ve added a cheekier twist: a “Nice” card and a slightly ‘naughty’ finale that’s bound to get a chuckle. People absolutely love hanging onto these little keepsakes, and they work brilliantly as marketing pieces, too (who doesn’t like a freebie?).

The quad case? A total win—it holds both routines prepped and primed, with spares tucked inside. I can easily tell which is which: the kids’ version sports the Naughty/Nice detail on the front (because kids, obviously).

I’m having an absolute blast performing this, and it’s been a resounding hit with Christmas audiences.
