For decades, the Linking Finger Rings has been one of the most elegant and intimate effects in all of magic. But whilst the effect is timeless, its methods have always come with compromises—until now, that is.
After years of wrestling with existing gimmicks, award-winning magician and creator Carisa Hendrix decided it was high time to give this classic a modern makeover. The outcome? Nova Ring, the most visual, practical, and beautifully engineered version of the Linking Finger Rings you’ll ever lay your hands on.
Imagine this: you borrow three rings from your spectators. One by one, you link them together, like a magic party trick that doesn’t involve embarrassing karaoke. Then, with just a flick of your wrist, one ring melts free and can be handed back without a hint of sleight-of-hand suspicion. For the grand finale, the last ring visibly melts off another—right in your spectator's open palm. It’s like real magic, minus the smoke and mirrors (and the awkward silences).
This all becomes possible thanks to the clever Nova Ring gimmick. Based on Pete Biro's legendary "Ghostly Finger Rings" and used with the blessing of the Joe Porper estate, Nova Ring ditches the bulky signet-style rings for sleek, everyday designs modelled after modern metal and fitness rings. They look completely ordinary—so ordinary, in fact, that your audience will be convinced they’re just wearing a regular ring (spoiler: they’re not).
The set includes three gimmicked rings (in black, gold, and silver) and three matching ungimmicked rings, all built to withstand years of performance (because let’s face it, they’ll need to survive your rehearsals). Everything fits snugly into the included custom case, which not only keeps the rings safe but also doubles as a secret utility device during your performance (because who doesn’t love a good multitasker?).
You’ll also get in-depth video instruction from Carisa herself. She’ll guide you through the full history, handling, and philosophy behind the effect, along with five live performances showcasing how the routine plays for different audiences and venues. Close-up, parlor, or stage—these rings are as adaptable as your excuses for missing that last family gathering.
