Ominous Deck (Spider) by Diamond Jim Tyler

Picture this: two unsuspecting punters pick their cards, and they get tossed into a standard poker-sized deck. Now, this deck is handed over to a mate, who holds it tightly between their hands. The magician (that’s you) reaches into the deck nestled between their palms and, lo and behold, pulls out both chosen cards like a seasoned pro. Then comes the kicker — you claim you're going to snatch the entire deck away without anyone catching on. Cue the sceptics! The spectator grips the deck tighter than their last pint, trying to keep a hold. But you, ever the cheeky magician, reveal a deck from your pocket. Cue gasps and disbelief (the good kind, not the ‘did I just step in something?’ kind).

Then you drop the bombshell: "What if I told you that you didn’t have any cards? What if I told you it was a creature, something poisonous that most people are afraid of?” Interest piqued, they open their hands to find a clear block containing a spider. Cue the freak-out! This gets HUGE reactions (and possibly a few squeals).

The creature inside is real — inanimate but still gives the heebie-jeebies.

Oh, and just a heads-up: this doesn’t come with cards. You can use any poker-sized deck you fancy, so no need to panic about the right colour!
