You start with a card folded into quarters, all nice and tidy.
Unfold it and show it off, face up, to your audience (who will be wondering what on earth you're up to).
Now, just casually pass your other hand in front of it, and voilà — a corner of the card flips upside down as if it’s just been misprinted! Three-quarters of the card is still face up, while a cheeky quarter has decided to face down!
Do it again, and another piece flips over!
Now you've got a half face up, half back up situation going on.
