Now, one brave soul gathers the envelopes and gives them a good shuffle. The resulting pile is as opaque as your favorite magic book after a long night of study. You could try to guess what’s inside, but good luck with that.
The envelopes are placed on a table, and all three spectators are tasked with concentrating on their creations. One is asked to reveal what they drew, but hold your horses—no envelope opening just yet! Instead, they pick the first envelope.
Next, the performer snags the second envelope, all while the remaining two spectators are still deep in thought about their artistic wonders. Without a word, one of them receives an envelope. Magic is all about the subtlety, right?
Now, the last envelope lies on the table, while the performer reaches into their pocket for yet another blank card. They ask the final spectator to think of their creation, and then, with the finesse of a seasoned pro, the performer begins to write. When they’re done, it’s time for the last spectator to retrieve the final envelope from the table. The performer places the card face down, but oh, the anticipation!
Finally, the spectators are invited to open their envelopes, and guess what? They all find their cards waiting for them, snug in their envelopes like they were meant to be there. But wait—there’s more! The card on the table is revealed, and it’s an exact match to what the last spectator envisioned. Mind blown, right?
