Here’s the deal: You start with two different color decks, and after a thorough shuffle (because we all know that’s part of the ritual), the spectator picks one and whisk it under the table like it’s a state secret. Meanwhile, you’re asked to pick a card, turn it over, and – here comes the fun part – make a unique mark by punching holes in it, as dictated by your spectator. They can even lose their card anywhere in the deck, and yes, they can shuffle to their heart's content. Talk about freedom!
Next, you take the other deck under the table and follow suit. Pick a card, turn it over, and punch the same number of holes as your spectator did. Toss that card back into the deck and let the magic simmer.
Now, for the big reveal! You lay out both decks for the first time. The spectator spreads their deck, pulls out their card, and – surprise, surprise – it’s the only punched, face-up card in the bunch. But wait, there’s more! You spread your deck and reveal that you’ve also turned and punched the same card. And just when they think it can’t get any better, you reveal that the holes match up exactly with those on the spectator's card. Mic drop!
