RIBBON PREDICTION: a delightfully simple and entertaining effect that you’ll want to slot into your act! This little gem is inspired by an effect from the legendary PAVEL, but with our version, you won't even need to ask about the colour.
The effect: You launch an inflated balloon into the audience to select a lucky spectator, who promptly joins you on stage. You then reveal a holder filled with four vibrant cards: blue, red, yellow, and green. You ask your volunteer to mentally pick one—let’s say they choose red (but they could just as easily go for blue, if they fancy). The choice is entirely free—no funny business here!
To share their selection with the crowd, you invite them to pull out the coloured card, show it off, and then pop it back into the holder while you turn your back (because, obviously, you’re a gentleman).
Now, you draw attention back to that balloon that picked the spectator. You suggest they give it a shake (because who doesn’t want to know what’s inside?). Then, you whip out a large needle and hand it over. You take the balloon in your hands and ask them to pop it with the needle. As the balloon bursts, out comes a ribbon—wonder of wonders, it matches their chosen colour!
For the younger crowd, those colourful cards could represent a rainbow, superheroes, or even moods (red for anger, blue for chill, green for harmony, and yellow for sunny vibes).
