In fact, he’s so confident he’s willing to wager a fiver (yeah, that’s right) if he fails! He places a crisp $5 bill under his shoe—nice and visible, so there’s no funny business. After fanning the deck, he takes his first shot at finding the card. Spoiler alert: it’s not the right one! One more wrong guess and our spectator walks away with the dosh! But wait, with his final attempt, the magician pulls out... a folded $5 bill! Since that bill ended up where the chosen card should be, you can bet your bottom dollar that the selected card is exactly where the bill was sitting. Sure enough, there’s a face-down card under his shoe, and flipping it over reveals the spectator's chosen card! The magician wins the bet—everyone’s shocked, and he’s a fiver richer!
