Inspired by the classic television game show "Super-Market Sweep," which made a cheeky comeback in 2018, this is a side-splitting comedy mentalism routine that’s packed with jaw-dropping moments and applause-worthy cues (because who doesn't love a good round of claps?).

Get ready for a rollicking ride of audience involvement, situational hilarity, and some seriously mind-boggling mentalism. Here’s what your audience can expect:

  • 12 everyday items from the high street become the punchlines for a barrage of comical one-liners (prepare for some giggles).
  • A random audience member tosses out half of these items (6, to be precise), setting the stage for chaos.
  • Six lucky souls are plucked from the crowd (maybe by throwing around a ball like it’s a game of dodgeball) to join the fun on stage.
  • Seven celebrity face masks are presented and mixed up. Each of our six volunteers plucks a mask to wear, leaving one lonely mask behind.
  • At this point, the "celebrities" spring to life! Imagine “Michael Jackson” doing the Moon Walk or other antics that’ll have the audience in stitches. It’s like a comedy hypnosis show — without the hypnosis, of course.
  • Each “celebrity” then gets to pick a shopping basket with colourful handles (who knew shopping could be this fun?).
  • They then select an item to toss into their basket.
  • As they’re busy shopping, you draw attention to a miniature shopping trolley nearby, housing a mysterious envelope that’ll come into play later (cue suspense).
  • Each volunteer receives a numbered card that matches their basket’s colour.
  • Everyone nabs a discount voucher, which they stash safely away (because saving money is always in style).
  • Next, they randomly choose a price for their selected item.
  • Each person grabs a plastic carrier bag from a hypothetical shop they might have visited.
  • A die (that can be examined for fairness, obviously) is rolled by another audience member to eliminate participants. This continues until only one lucky contestant remains on stage.
  • This final champion, decked out in a celebrity mask and clutching a shopping basket, is about to be the star of the show.
  • Finally, you unveil your prediction from the mini trolley, revealing:
    • Which celebrity is left standing.
    • What item they purchased.
    • Where it was bought, based on their chosen plastic bag's store name.
But here’s the kicker: when the amount you predicted is read out, it hilariously doesn’t match the price they picked — cue laughter!
  • However, don’t fret! You remind them of the discount vouchers they selected. When this value is deducted from their total, the final price matches perfectly! Cue thunderous applause!
The beauty of this routine is its adaptability — change the products, masks, and jokes to keep it fresh at every gig. And if you’re performing at a corporate event, why not use items from the client’s own product range? They’ll love that you’ve tailored this show just for them!
