Basic Performance: The MC strolls on stage with a briefcase, no magician in sight, just the case. He plonks it on a writing desk, opens the lid, and—boom!—the magician makes his grand entrance from within.
Basic Vanish: The magician sets the case on the writing desk, a girl gets pushed inside, and then off goes the magician with the briefcase. Poof!
Variations: Use it for other productions, briefcase optional. In Romhany's routine, the lid swings open to reveal an eight-foot ladder, followed by Romhany emerging as if he’s just climbed up.
At FISM, it was even used to vanish TWO people. Picture this: the briefcase is on the floor, a girl is pushed inside, and then another assistant joins her. The magician lifts the case and struts off stage.

Puppetry: This has also been cleverly employed by a puppeteer hiding inside the writing desk, operating a puppet while the performer interacts. Talk about multitasking!
