After nearly 20 years of being a professional magician (and sometimes dabbling in mentalism), I’ve done it all – corporate table hopping, massive events, and intimate gatherings. Let’s not forget a fair share of “impromptu” magic (because who doesn’t love a bit of spontaneous fun?).
About a year ago, I had a lightbulb moment. I wanted to create something that would let me perform an impromptu Dual Reality Hypnosis routine anytime, anywhere the moment called for it. It needed to be compact, impactful, and tick all my boxes. And it does, trust me.

Here’s a snappy version of the included routine, sans any fluff or filler (because who has time for that?).
Picture this: you’re working with a couple, and the lady is your participant. I start by explaining that I don’t bother with pendulums – I’ve got an old business card instead. I show the back, directing my participant to focus on the logo whilst I do my “suggestion” thing.
I separate them a tad and give the bloke a sneaky peek at the business name on the front (Red Frog). I tell him to keep a straight face and commit it to memory.
Next, I give the lady a hypnotic suggestion, claiming she won’t understand the name when I show it to her. I flash the card, then quickly turn back to the gentleman for another look at Red Frog, reminding him to keep mum.
When I ask the lady if the name makes sense, she’ll typically say “no” or “not really”. I might even get a chuckle, since she’s seeing two words that don’t add up.
I let her know that when her mate says the name, the “suggestion” will vanish. And when I prompt him to say it out loud, he replies “Red Frog”. Suddenly, she sees it – clear as day! That’s how it plays out!
Only one card is needed in the performance, but I do throw in a distressed un-gaffed duplicate for good measure.
