The Deliverance is a clever little gimmick that lets you pull a signed card from a completely sealed box under the most scrutinising conditions (because who doesn’t love a good jaw-drop?).
Imagine this:
A deck of cards is taken out of its box. Easy enough, right?
You can fan or spread the cards to show they’re all different—no “two of hearts” shenanigans here. A spectator picks a card as you deal them out onto the table or into their hands. They sign it, and you place it back in the spread, leaving it sticking out like a sore thumb (but in a good way). Everyone can see it clearly in the deck as it goes back into the box.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting: the box is completely sealed on five sides by the plastic wrapper. The only access is through the top flap, which you close and seal with a sticker. This sticker—wait for it—gets signed too. The box stays in full view, never leaving the spectators’ sight, yet you somehow manage to produce the card from the most impossible locations you can think of (or maybe just the back pocket of your jeans).
Want to make it even more baffling? Pop the sealed box into a paper bag wrapped in Gaffa tape, and you can still retrieve the card whenever you fancy (don’t ask how, it’s part of the magic).
It’s a doddle to perform. No palming, no complicated sleight of hand, and you won’t need a degree in magic. This opens up a world of possibilities for where the card can show up.
