The Professor, Dai Vernon, summed up Dr. Sawa this way:

"One of the most creative magicians I have ever known. As the saying goes, you have to see it to believe it—and even then, you won't!" Find out why.

When Dr. Sawa burst onto the magic scene back in the 1970s, he caused an international sensation. His work with paper, seashells, ropes, and especially coins was a delightful mix of whimsy and jaw-dropping astonishment. After a mysterious hiatus from the magic world, Dr. Sawa is back—his passion for magic not only reignited but fully on fire.

L&L Publishing proudly presents some of his latest coin routines that will make you question your own sanity.

  • Gold: Watch as three oversized copper Belgian coins undergo a transformation—first, one turns to gold, then another, and the last goes silver before pulling the ultimate switcheroo to gold!
  • Maple: Utilizing a devilishly simple method, witness a large silver Canadian coin spring to life with color—yes, it’s just one coin doing all the heavy lifting.
  • The Locked Room: A stunning penetration of a coin into an inverted wineglass, followed by a dinner plate, and a surprise that’ll leave your spectators scratching their heads.
  • Pin Point: A coin with a hole is affixed to a hefty safety pin. Watch it leap from one rung to the other, becoming an “impossible object” that can face inspection without a hitch.
  • Cushion Impossible: A ballpoint pen pierces two half-dollars, leaving visible holes that vanish, only for the coins to morph into Chinese coins with the holes miraculously returned!
  • Lincoln's Paper Weight: Three pennies are seemingly trapped inside a solid block of transparent acrylic. Press them deeper, then all the way through, and the block remains unscathed. Magic? You bet.
  • Goat: A Sawa classic gets a fresh twist. Twisted tissue transforms into a "goat" that munches on paper balls. Feed it cash, and watch it regurgitate coins—because why not?
  • Bermuda Triangle: An exotic routine where coins pass through a table, leading to an ending so unexpected it’ll have your audience shaking their heads in disbelief.
