The Professor, Dai Vernon, summed up Dr. Sawa this way:

"One of the most creative magicians I have ever known. As the saying goes, you have to see it to believe it—and even then, you won't!" Well, buckle up and see for yourself.

When Dr. Sawa burst onto the magic scene back in the 1970s, he caused a right stir. His antics with paper, seashells, ropes, and especially coins were a delightful mix of whimsy and jaw-dropping astonishment. After a mysterious vanishing act from the magic world for a while, he's back and more passionate than ever (and trust me, that’s saying something).

L&L Publishing is chuffed to present a fresh batch of astonishing coin routines that’ll have your mates scratching their heads.

  • Gold: Watch as three oversized copper Belgian coins perform a little transformation magic. One turns to gold, then another follows suit, and the third? Well, it plays coy before becoming gold too!
  • Maple: Using a ridiculously simple method, a large silver Canadian coin suddenly develops colour, and all the while, you’re only using one coin. Magic? Yes, please!
  • The Locked Room: A stunning coin penetration into an inverted wineglass, followed by an even cheekier one through a dinner plate. And just when you think it’s over, there’s a bonus surprise at the end. You’ll love it!
  • Pin Point: A coin with a hole in the middle is pinned to a large safety pin. Watch it jump from one rung to the next, and good luck trying to remove it—it’s an “impossible object” that can be examined thoroughly (no dodgy business here).
  • Cushion Impossible: Push a ballpoint pen through two half-dollars, making visible holes appear, then vanish! And just when you think it’s done, those coins transform into Chinese coins with the holes back. Mind-boggling!
  • Lincoln's Paper Weight: Three pennies are pushed inside a solid block of transparent acrylic. They’re really inside! Press them deeper, then all the way through, leaving the block unscathed. Magic, right?
  • Goat: An updated classic from Sawa! Twisted tissue creates a “goat” that gobbles up paper balls, and when you feed it paper currency, it coughs up change. Who knew goats were so generous?
  • Bermuda Triangle: An exotic presentation where coins pass through a table, leading to an ending that’s as unexpected as it is delightful.
