"The Doctor Is In!"
Back in the 1970s, Dr. Sawa made quite the entrance into the magic realm, leaving folks scratching their heads and laughing in equal measure. His quirky take on everything from paper to seashells, ropes, and, of course, coins, was nothing short of bonkers (in a good way). After a bit of a hiatus from the magic scene—probably to have a good think—he's back, more pumped about magic than ever. Who can blame him?
L&L Publishing is chuffed to bring you a collection of new and mind-boggling coin routines.
- Grade Up Coins: Get ready for a quadruple transformation! Four hefty silver coins change shape, two morphing into old Japanese coins sporting holes, while the other two bulk up into even bigger coins. It's like a magic gym session for coins!
- 1 = 6: A maths lesson that’ll make you question everything: One coin splits into two, then two into four, and before you know it, you’re in a six-coin pickle. Just when you think it’s over, they all merge back into one—like a bad magic break-up.
- Bad Tailor: A classic Sawa routine given a fresh spin. Watch as a coin penetrates a closed purse, then back inside, through the performer's pocket, and back into the purse again. Just when you think it can't get weirder, the purse penetrates the pocket, delivering a kicker finish that’ll knock your socks off!
- Tornado Story: Five coins of varying sizes represent a family caught in a cyclone, leading to spectacular results and a surprisingly happy ending. (Spoiler alert: No coins were harmed in the making of this story!)
- Ancient Earring: Four silver coins morph into Chinese coins with holes, but that’s just the warm-up for the jaw-dropping double change that follows. You won’t believe your eyes—seriously, check your glasses!
- Lovers: After three decades, Sawa’s latest take on this romantic effect has two coins clinging together, defying all laws of attraction. (Clearly, they didn’t get the memo about personal space.)
- P.O. Box: Ingenious Okito Box magic where “computer files” (looking suspiciously like half dollars) are zapped across cyberspace. Net neutrality? Who needs it!
- Policeman Heiji: Louis Falanga’s absolute favourite routine—and the audience seemed to agree, giving it a spontaneous standing ovation. When you see the multiple payoffs, you’ll be clapping too.
