This nifty close-up version is a 13.5cm brass stick, flaunting four wooden beads at each end—one of which dangles adorably on a cord. Pull a bead from one side, and watch that hanging bead retract like it’s playing peekaboo; pull the other, and it stays tucked away. Rinse and repeat with various combos, and voilà! All the beads appear to be best mates. But slice the stick in half, and surprise! There’s no connection in the middle (cue gasps). The Mystery Stick is an absolute showstopper.

Notes:
The tube is made of H62 brass and may naturally oxidise over time, giving it that vintage charm. So, if it goes a bit darker, don’t panic—it’s supposed to!
