It’s a common misconception that packet tricks—those delightful little gems in the card magic realm—are a recent phenomenon. Sure, they exploded onto the scene in the 60s and 70s, prompting Jon Racherbaumer to coin the term "packeteer" for those who embraced these compact wonders, but let’s set the record straight: effects with just a handful of cards have been captivating audiences since the late 1800s. Many snub their noses at the term "packet trick," but if crafted and executed with finesse, these tricks can pack a punch that far surpasses the usual deck shenanigans. So, don’t underestimate these mini marvels! With just a handful of cards and the sage wisdom from the legends featured in this download, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a master packeteer!
In Volume 3, prepare to be dazzled by some serious card wizardry that any close-up magician would be proud to perform. Bill Malone kicks things off with a turbocharged version of Paul Harris' classic, "Reset," where Aces and Kings swap places in ways that will leave your audience scratching their heads. Paul Wilson follows up with a slick in-the-hands rendition of Nick Trost's timeless effect, where a spectator's chosen card turns out to be the sole card sporting a different back color. Then, Pavel introduces a card-eating turtle—yes, you read that right—who visibly "devours" four freely selected cards, while John Guastaferro showcases four cards depicting frogs that magically transform into princes before flipping back to their froggy selves.
But wait, there's more! Michael Ammar spins a yarn with just a few cards from a standard deck, telling the tale of Brother John Hamman's Twins, followed by Dan Fleshman’s quick hit where the four Aces morph into all Aces of Spades and then magically switch to the four Kings. James Swain takes the stage with his modern classic, showing four face-up Queens that each sport a unique back color, only to astoundingly reveal that all the Queens end up having different backs. And just when you think it’s over, Michael Ammar wraps up the volume with Dai Vernon's iconic effect, where the four Aces turn over one by one as if by sheer magic.
