Big shoutout to David Penn and Paul Longhurst from the Wizard Magic Review for giving the Table by TCC & Airship Magic Mfg a whirl! They slapped an impressive 89% score on it, which is basically their highest praise unless they’re actually performing it in their own shows. Cheers to the mates involved in the review!
Check out the trailer:
The Magic from Middle Ages
Way back in 1584, the first known magic book, The Discoverie of Witchcraft, dropped some serious magic wisdom:
"To make a groat or a testor to sink through a table, and to vanish out of a handkerchief very strangely."
And there you have it—the first recorded instance of the Coins Through Table routine. Fast forward a few centuries, and this classic has become a staple in every magician’s repertoire, with countless books and videos dedicated to it. Timeless? You bet!
A Legacy of David Roth
Enter David Roth, who crafted a brilliant version called "The Table," featured in Expert Coin Magic. Picture this: three coins visibly penetrating a cute little dollhouse table while the audience watches in awe. And just when you think it couldn’t get any better, the little table penetrates the real table. Game on!
The Table by TCC & Airship Magic Mfg.
With the green light from Airship Magic Mfg and the wizardry of TCC Magic, we’ve spent almost half a year tinkering, prototyping, and testing to bring you what we firmly believe is the most exquisite and practical little coin table out there—The Table.
The Slot Version
This isn’t your average table; it’s a Slot version, a modern twist on what David Roth originally envisioned. The real kicker? You don’t need any gaff coins—just your regular old coins. That means it’s easier to handle and feels way more casual (like your favourite pair of socks).
Originally dreamt up by Mark Tillinghast and passed along to Chazpro Magic and the renowned RNT2, it’s now under the banner of Airship Magic Mfg.
The Effect
You whip out a charming little wooden table (which you can hand over for inspection, of course). Then, armed with four half dollars, you make those coins visibly penetrate the table, all without breaking a sweat. And for the grand finale, you cover the table with a black silk cloth and, with a gentle press, either make it sink into the working surface or vanish completely. Mic drop!
The Exquisite Design & Craft
Designed by professional furniture aficionados, the Tillinghast coin table is a work of art. Every detail has been carefully crafted, from the surface to the legs. The gimmick has been rigorously tested to ensure it’s just right for most coins measuring between 25mm and 30mm in diameter.
Constructed from solid African rosewood, it boasts the kind of craftsmanship you’d expect from high-end furniture. Plus, the tablecloth for your closing routine has a posh, neat edge.

- Table cloth
- No coins included; you can use any half dollars.
