Known affectionately as "The King of Korn," Karrell Fox was a true original in the world of magic. A master performer across the board—comedy, mentalism, children’s shows, trade shows, you name it—he did it all (and likely with a cheeky grin). By the tender age of sixteen, he was already running a magic shop and making appearances on iconic TV programmes like The Ed Sullivan Show. Let's not forget his long-running gig as Milky the Clown, either. Karrell was brimming with clever ideas that were not only practical but also packed a punch in performance. Here’s a taste of the routines you’ll find in this video download:
- X-Ray Glasses - Watch as a chosen card is revealed in a ridiculously entertaining way. It's easy as pie and extremely marketable.
- Flip-Over Cards - Four matchbooks transform a simple four-Ace production into a full-on theatrical moment. The basic method works just as well for four selected cards, too.
- Why Not? Papers 2 Bills - Five pieces of newspaper magically morph into five one-dollar bills right before your eyes. A visual treat that’s a breeze to construct and perform (ideal for trade shows!).
- Loop Lift - A "Foxy" approach to cutting and restoring a rope—simple yet incredibly effective. This method can stand alone or slot right into any routine.
- Mene-Tekel Book Test - A freely-selected page from a magazine is torn away, but the performer describes its contents in startling detail. A nifty ruse takes care of the memory work usually needed for such feats.
- Papa-Rose - Two bits of tissue paper, one red and one green, are magically transformed into a real flower that you can hand to a spectator. Because who doesn’t love flowers?
- Sealed Stab Prediction - A spectator picks a card by sliding an envelope into the pack, only for it to perfectly match the prediction inside that very envelope. Surprise!
- Jig-Saw Cards - A card is selected, returned, and then the cards are torn into quarters. Those pieces are mixed up in a bag, and when revealed, they all match the spectator’s card. A versatile trick for any setting.
- Cane to Wand / Cane to Rope - Two highly commercial applications for a standard vanishing cane, making for a brilliant opener in your show.
- Flash-Strip - A strip of tissue is torn into bits only to be restored in the blink of an eye. A fantastic opener for any platform or parlor performance.
- Magachange - Two magazines with different covers are shown, and with a flick of the wrist, they instantly switch places! It’s simple to make and perform yet visually stunning.
- Sonuva Switch - A simplified version of the McCombical Prediction. A jumbo card is wrapped in newspaper as a prediction, and despite a different card being selected, it magically turns into the right one when unwrapped.
- A Two-Fisted Book Test - A super straightforward book test using nothing but a regular, unprepared book. You’ll be wowing audiences with this mentalism gem in no time.
- Silkut - A silk handkerchief is placed in a folded piece of paper. The audience can see the ends of the handkerchief sticking out, but after cutting through with shears, it’s restored instantly. Magic at its finest!
This video was originally released by Supreme Magic as "The New Karrell Fox Video." Now, a few technical quirks may pop up due to the passage of time, but that just adds character, right?
