“Sometimes the smallest things hold the greatest resistance. Not in their strength, but in their purpose. This isn't just a card trick, it's a chance to change someone's perception!”
- Dynamo (Steven Frayne)
Picture this: it’s the early 1800s, and a French magician named Robert-Houdin is wowing crowds with his Light and Heavy Chest illusion. He’s got the audience questioning their own strength, like a dodgy personal trainer (but with more flair).
TNT, the Tear No Tear Deck, takes this legendary concept and gives it a cheeky twist. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill card trick; it’s an experience that fuses mind control, psychology, and a sprinkle of impossible magic.
So, what’s in store? Your participant picks a card and is asked to tear it in half. They’ll give it their all, but no matter how hard they yank, that card stays unscathed. Meanwhile, you swoop in and tear it without breaking a sweat.
But wait, there’s more! You can even repeat the effect with the torn pieces. Try as they might, they won’t manage to rip the card. You’re in complete control, flicking their strength on and off like a light switch. No sneaky switches in sight.
Inside your order, you’ll find 52 undetectable gimmicks that blend seamlessly with our classic Red Monarch deck, plus a standard Red Monarch deck for good measure.
After five years of tinkering, TNT has been flaunted by Dynamo in his 2023 and 2024 TV specials. It’s as straightforward as it gets—no sleight of hand required, just your imagination and a dash of mischief. Perform it anywhere, anytime, and leave your audience questioning their grip on reality.
And just a heads-up: you’ll soon be able to grab your TNT refills. For now, feel free to reach out to our support team, and we’ll sort you out (proof of original purchase is needed, of course).
Tear No Tear was crafted independently by Nicholas Lawrence, and the effect has been in development with theory11 since November 2020. Sure, there are other similar effects floating about, but none quite like the gimmick and unique mass production methods that make TNT stand out, as showcased by Dynamo in December 2023 and December 2024. Nicholas would like to give a nod to other publications of similar plots and methods for those keen to dig deeper: Weak by Perseus Arkomanis, Tear No Tear Pad by Alan Wong, Silent Control by Rick Lax & Alan Wong, TNT by Marc Sueper.
