Transparency is the brainchild of two magicians and creators, Alexis Touchard and Axel Vergnaud. In the online instructions, you'll discover three jaw-dropping routines that are so visual they could probably star in their own TikTok series. Picture this: a poker chip turning crystal clear, you finding the corner of a spectator's card, and even peeling the colour off the poker chip to reveal it on the back of the spectator's signed card (talk about a plot twist!).
The First routine
Start by showing a random card and smack the poker chip with its face. Just like that, the poker chip morphs into a transparent wonder, and the colour? It's now plastered on the card's face. Ideal for social media, this quick visual effect will have your mates scratching their heads (or reaching for their phones).
The Second routine
So, your spectator picks a card, loses it in the deck, and you ask them to imagine tearing a corner off their card and tossing it in the air (they might think you're bonkers, but just roll with it). You show off the poker chip in your hand, pretend to catch that imaginary corner, and pop it inside the chip—voilà, it's still invisible! You wave your hand over the poker chip, and boom! It becomes clear with the corner of their card trapped inside. You dig into the deck, and lo and behold, their card is missing a corner. Oh, and it matches the one inside the poker chip. Not too shabby, eh? You could end here, but why not dazzle them with a bonus? Place the poker chip with the corner in front of their eyes, then snatch the corner right out of the chip. Magic, am I right?
The Third routine
The spectator picks a card and signs it (because, you know, it’s got to be official). You lose the card in the deck, plop the poker chip on their palm, and riffle the deck over it. Just like that, the poker chip becomes completely clear in THEIR hand. You casually explain that you've stolen the colour to find their card, spread the deck, and reveal that their signed card has the poker chip's design on the back. Turn it face up—it’s their signed card! You then take that clear poker chip, place the back of the card on it, and watch as the colourful design returns, leaving their signed card looking rather plain. Ta-da!
Perfect for close-up magic and those social media moments that need a bit of pizzazz.
So easy, you’ll wonder why you didn’t try this sooner!
