Vectra Virtuoso is the most invisible of the Vectra threads. It’s delicate, but don’t let that fool you—it can easily hold a credit card or your driver’s licence (ideal for the magician who likes to keep things classy). Use it in a variety of lighting conditions, just INCHES away from your audience’s noses!
Virtuoso boasts an ultra-smooth texture. Unlike those twisted or kinky fibres that you might have encountered, Virtuoso is straight and spooled that way. You’ll notice the difference as soon as it glides across your skin or fingernail—it's as smooth as silk, and that smoothness translates directly into your magic.
With just the right amount of elasticity, this thread acts like a shock absorber, enhancing your levitations by eliminating those pesky jerks or shakes. Give it a flick while levitating something, and watch as your object stays perfectly still. Where other lines might magnify your blunders, Virtuoso quietly corrects them. Live, in real time.
Now, don’t confuse Virtuoso's elasticity with "springiness". A twisted thread behaves like a spring, and you don’t want that during a performance, do you? Riggings for theatrical levitation often use elastic to smooth out the performer’s flight; the degree of elasticity has to be spot on, and with Virtuoso, it absolutely is.
And yes, Virtuoso is practically invisible, making it a dream for those up-close and personal performances.
Thanks to its perfect tint, Virtuoso gobbles up light from all around—including good old natural light. Pair that with its reduced reflectivity due to its straight-edged profile, and you’ll see Virtuoso outshine even our renowned John Haar thread. Go on, give it a whirl and see if you don’t agree. Think you’ve got the chops to handle the finest, most invisible stuff around?
Do you favour control over convenience? If your answer is a resounding YES, then Vectra Virtuoso is the thread you need.
It arrives as a multi-filament marvel, easily separable into fibres that are almost invisible. Your package will even include a link to an online video with some basic handling instructions. Sure, a beginner can give this thread a go, but it’s a touch more delicate compared to the other threads in the Vectra series. If you’re just starting out, you might find the original Vectra Line a bit more forgiving (your future self will thank you).
However, if you’ve got a bit of experience with thread work and fancy pushing your limits in extreme lighting and close-up situations, then Vectra Virtuoso is just what you’re after.
You get well over 500 feet of unstripped thread. With dozens of fibres in each strand, that’s a LOT of thread to play with!
