History was made from September 2-6, 1982, in a nondescript filming studio in St. John's, Newfoundland (not exactly Hollywood, is it?), as the life and magic of Dai Vernon were immortalised for future generations. A nod to Bill Larsen inspired this project, which was taken on by Videonics, run by the charming Hans Zahn. Co-hosts Michael Ammar, Gary Ouellet, and Steve Freeman were the lucky ones to be part of the filming shenanigans.

L & L Publishing has now dusted off this original footage, given it a digital makeover, and packaged it into 8 nifty downloads. Not only do we get to see and hear the Professor in action, but our great-grandkids will also learn from the greatest master of them all (talk about a legacy!).

Here are some delightful nuggets to ponder:

* The format is a jam session with Vernon holding court, sharing tricks, moves, and routines like a seasoned pro.
* Every move, technique, and tip you see is actually performed by Vernon or one of his co-hosts, complete with explanations (because what's magic without a bit of clarity?).
* You’ll find that about half of the material relates to the published works, while the other half was fresh off Vernon's mind (and trust me, it’s a goldmine).
* Often, Vernon reveals important new techniques on his classic routines, including improvements and previously secret handlings (yes, even those famous Stars of Magic effects).
* You’ll get to see iconic routines like the Coins in Champagne Glass and the Fred Kaps Coins and Silk (a little something Vernon invented and passed on).
* Plus, prepare for some juicy revelations about the Erdnase techniques, a subject Vernon has spent a lifetime dissecting (and he’s not shy about sharing).

The whole point of these videos? To capture Vernon live so that future magicians can experience his genius firsthand (and no, it's not just for us old-timers).

No magician worth their salt should skip these videos. Dai Vernon was the Dean of modern magic, and he’s spilling some serious wisdom here.
