History was made from September 2-6, 1982, in a nondescript filming studio in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, where the one-and-only Dai Vernon had his magic immortalised for future generations (lucky them, right?). Inspired by the legendary Bill Larsen, this project was brought to life by Videonics, helmed by the ever-dedicated Hans Zahn. Co-hosting this magical journey were the likes of Michael Ammar, Gary Ouellet, and Steve Freeman—quite the team, if you ask me!

L & L Publishing has now taken this original footage, given it a digital makeover, and released it as 8 downloadable gems. Not only can we bask in the brilliance of the Professor at work, but our great-grandkids (and theirs) will also learn the elusive craft from the grandmaster himself. Talk about passing the baton!

Now, here’s the nitty-gritty:

* The format? Think jam session, with Vernon chatting about his tricks, moves, and routines whilst holding court like the king he is.
* All the moves, techniques, routines, tips, and handlings discussed are actually performed by Vernon or one of the co-hosts, complete with a full explanation. No smoke and mirrors here!
* About half of the material covered relates to the published record; the other half? Brand new, hot off the press (for the time, anyway).
* Often, Vernon shares valuable new techniques on his classics, including nifty improvements and previously undisclosed handlings—even on those famous Stars of Magic effects!
* World-renowned routines, like the Coins in Champagne Glass or the Fred Kaps Coins and Silk (a little invention of Vernon's that he generously taught to Kaps) are revealed for all to enjoy.
* And let’s not forget the juicy insights into Erdnase techniques, which Vernon has spent a lifetime studying and dishing out. This is substantial stuff!

The aim of these videos? To capture Vernon live so that future magicians can truly experience him—no filter, no fluff.

No self-respecting magician should miss out on these! Dai Vernon, the Dean of modern magic, spills the beans on some truly magnificent secrets in these tapes.
