Here’s a nifty little trick that'll have your spectators scratching their heads in disbelief. You begin by showing them a piece of paper with a simple arrow drawn on it. Hold it aloft with the arrow pointing upwards, fold it, then unfold it to reveal — surprise, surprise — it’s still pointing up (as arrows are wont to do). Then, you hand the paper to your spectator, instructing them to do the same. They’ll hold it with the arrow pointing up, fold it just like you did, and then you hit them with a curveball: tell them to imagine that arrow flipping upside down. Once they’ve got that image locked in their noggin, they unfold the paper and — voila! Their arrow has mysteriously flipped upside down!
- All you need is two bits of paper and a pen to draw arrows. Easy peasy! - NO switches (because who has the time?) - NO sleight of hand (let’s keep it simple, shall we?)
