ACE ASSEMBLIES

The classic trick where the four Aces are dealt face down, with three random cards on each, yet somehow the Aces mysteriously congregate into one of the piles, is usually credited to the French magician Conus. Since its debut in 1853, magicians have been churning out spectacular variations of this ageless effect, still captivating audiences today.

VOLUME 1

On this DVD, you’ll be introduced to six magicians, each with their own quirky spin on the Ace Assembly. Kicking things off is Bill Malone with a visual stunner that’s guaranteed to put a grin on your face. Then, Bruce Cervon takes it up a notch, employing Aces with mismatched backs, while Alex Elmsley makes the Aces assemble right in a spectator’s hand (yes, really!). Next up is Dan Harlan, who presents a version featuring odd-backed Aces in a sequence so fair it almost looks like real magic. Simon Aronson then shows you why letting anyone near your Poker hand is a bad idea. Wrapping up this volume is James Swain, whose version lets a spectator pick the packet where the Aces gather (talk about pressure!).

Hugard and Braue, in their classic book, Expert Card Technique, wrote, "Of all the tricks with playing cards, as much thought has been expended on the Four Ace trick as on any other—and the performers 'and performances' you'll watch and learn from on this DVD are ample evidence why."
