Effect: Picture this: a plastic frame with four cheeky little windows. Three of them are stacked up like a dodgy tower on one side, and the fourth is lounging in the middle of the opposite side. The magician (that’s you) shows off a card and pops it into the frame. It’s visible through all three windows, so no funny business there. Then, in a dramatic flourish, you mime slicing the card into three bits (because who doesn’t love a bit of dramatic flair?). Suddenly, the middle section of the card slides over to the single window on the other side of the frame. Ta-da! The card now appears in three separate pieces—like magic, only with slightly less glitter! The middle bit's on one side, while the top and bottom have decided to hang out on the other.
After a cheeky pause to let the audience’s jaws drop, you slide that middle section back to its original spot, between the other two pieces, and pull the card out of the frame. Voila! The card is fully restored, leaving your audience scratching their heads (and probably questioning their grasp on reality). You’ve just pulled off a nifty stage illusion in a pocket-sized package, and close-up spectators are left utterly baffled! It’s magic without the faff!
