Picture this: you’re holding what might just be the most extensive magic book ever conceived. Sounds pretty appealing, right? For any magician worth their salt, each chapter dives into a single facet of our art, showcasing some of the most legendary routines ever crafted. That’s the genius of L&L Publishing’s critically-acclaimed video series, The World's Greatest Magic. Each volume is like adding another chapter to the ultimate magic tome. With detailed breakdowns and demonstrations of cherished, classic effects by some of the best in the biz, this series is an indispensable resource for anyone serious about the magical arts—no matter where you stand on the skill spectrum.

ACE ASSEMBLIES

Now, let’s talk about the classic Ace Assembly trick. You know the one—four Aces are dealt face down, three random cards on top of each, yet somehow those Aces manage to huddle together in one of the piles. This brainchild is typically credited to the French magician Conus, and since its debut in 1853, magicians have been cranking out mind-blowing variations that continue to captivate audiences today.

VOLUME 2

In this download, you’ll get to hang with five magicians, each unveiling their unique spin on the Ace Assembly plot. First up, we have Bill Malone, whose Ace assembly is so clean you'll swear trick cards are in play (spoiler: they’re not!). Then, Steve Draun takes it up a notch with a visually stunning climax to Marlo's Bluff assembly. Trevor Lewis shakes things up by changing where the Aces land at the last second, delivering a jaw-dropping finish to a relatively simple routine. Next, John Guastaferro introduces a version where the Aces assemble right in the card case, while Martin Nash's Aces manage to gather under a spectator’s hand—talk about a showstopper! And just when you thought you’d seen it all, Bill Malone makes a comeback with a technically demanding routine where the Aces make a “sudden and visible” appearance in the lead packet.

As Hugard and Braue noted in their classic tome, Expert Card Technique, “Of all the tricks with playing cards, as much thought has been expended on the Four Ace trick as on any other—and the performers 'and performances' you'll watch and learn from on this download are ample evidence why.”
