The magician explains that one card is a bit of a rebel, completely different from the others, and it’s up to your spectator to find it among the 52. No pressure, right?
A few cheeky clues are tossed in, and the spectator thinks of a number. They’ll jot down their genius idea on a business card or a scrap of paper (because we’re all about keeping it classy).
Next, they flip the business card over to discover a list of numbers, each paired with a playing card. They’ll take note, feeling like true detectives.
Now comes the fun part: the performer asks if they want to stick with their number or have a wild change of heart. Spoiler alert: they can totally choose a different number if they fancy it.
The cards are counted out to the chosen number — and yes, the spectator can finish the count (so no pressure there).
Here’s where it gets juicy: all the cards are blank, save for one lone printed card sitting right at the chosen number. And for the final twist—drumroll, please—it’s actually on the back!
No forcing, mate! The spectator gets to pick their number freely (there’s a sneaky list of favoured numbers hidden in the patter — clever, eh?).
No Rough & Smooth nonsense here (if they want, they can keep the cards afterwards — a lovely souvenir!).
